With chapters on Vesuvius, the Corniche Road, Amalfi, Ravello, Salerno, Capri, and other locales. With 25 color illustrations of the sites visited done by Greiffenhagen. Bound in dark blue cloth with gilt titling and elaborate ornamentation to spine. Binding is slightly rubbed and bumped, and there are a few spots to the preliminary pages, not affecting text pages. With a bibliography of works consulted. Text is followed by an extensive index and a forty page publisher's catalog. With bookplate of owner Henry Hurd and gift inscription to him from Christmas 1908. Hurd was the first director of the Johns Hopkins hospital. Very good condition.
