They say on their website: "We founded Barbarian Press in Boughton Monchelsea, Kent, in 1977, having conceived a love for beautifully printed books and a determination to see what we could do ourselves in that line. In 1978 we returned to Canada with presses and type and established the press on five wooded acres in Steelhead, British Columbia, near Mission. The softcover work contains several poems by Frances Cornford. Frances Darwin Cornford, granddaughter of Charles Darwin, was a prominent figure in early 20th century British poetry. Her work continues to be studied and appreciated today for its directness of language and unflinching portrayal of everyday life. Cornford's poems often explore domestic themes, motherhood, and the complexities of human relationships with a keen eye for detail and a touch of melancholy [From "All Poetry"]. Bound in lightly patterned pinkish brown covers with white label on front cover with author name and "Loose Canons Five."
