The Tyger
District of Columbia: Abstract Orange, 2026. Number 6 of 20 copies, signed and numbered by the book artist. A bold and striking new work from this book artist. Tyger combines the poetry of William Blake and the wood type of InCahoots Press. During an artist residency at InCahoots in Petaluma, CA in 2026, Lauren Emeritz / Abstract Orange created this exciting work. The book utilizes bright colors contrasted with dark ink washes on the back of the page to feel both vibrant and dangerous. The book is composed on three layer of type, neon yellow and orange in the background and black text in the foreground printed on BFK paper and printed on a Vandercook Universal 3. The structure is two one page books hinged together to create a long, symmetrical accordion. The cover is orange ink painted on book boards and tied shut with a black linen ribbon. The orange and black mimic the look of a tiger. There are small black spots on the front endpapers and a light black line on the title page. There are also light black marks on one of the text pages. These spots and marks were intentionally designed and included by the book artist. ARTBK/080726.
