This was a fascinating and rather complex production supported by a Post-Newsweek Station Fellowship. In addition to the book's design, DeCoster provided some of the photgraphs and computer graphics. Miles DeCoster is currently a tenured associate professor in the Communication Design Department at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. His full-time teaching career began at Kutztown University in the fall of 1993. His main area of expertise is interactive design which includes web design and other forms of computer-based experience design. DeCoster is a painter, photographer, printmaker, book artist, web artist and designer. His work is in numerous collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the California Museum of Photography, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The book provides an unconventional history of television, with many graphics and with photographs of such figures as Sid Caeser and Lucy and Desi, as well as photos of a television control room, a lingerie model, news casters and more.
