His Little Journeys series of small works on various writers, artists and other famous people, and his visits to their homes began in 1896 and became quite well known. The collection on Reformers was published in 6 separate monthly releases (all bound together in this volume) describing the homes of 6 different people whom Hubbard considered reformers. Includes: John Wesley, Henry George, Garibaldi, Richard Cobden, Thomas Paine, and John Knox. Professionally rebacked in white cloth with original grey paper spine laid down. Original grey paper covered boards with modern grey endpapers. Gilt title to spine and front board. Minor sunning to spine and oxidizing to gilt emblem on front board. White scuff marks to rear board, bumpint to bottom corners, and minor wear to edges. Foxing to fore-edge of text block and light browning to margins, but clean and bright overall. Tight binding. Frontispiece portraits of each featured reformer with tissue guard. Decorative initials printed in black and red. Small octavo. 190 pages. PRERAPH/020223. Good +.
