London: Jones and Co, 1828. Hardcover. Includes 80 plates plus 1 map and 2 engraved title pages. Bound in three quarter dark brown leather over marbled paper covered boards with gilt title to spine. Heavy wear and rubbing to boards with some losses to marbled paper. Heavy wear to corners and edges of boards. Front hinge is cracked and rear hinge is worn. Boards remain attached and textblock is tightly bound. Text pages have occasional spots of foxing but are clean overall; although there is browning to a few pages where flowers appear to have once been pressed. There is heavier foxing to the plates, which are bound into the rear. Dampstaining to margins of many plates; however, images are not affected. Two pages of plates have open tears to the margins and one has been repaired with extra paper adhered to the verso. A few short closed tears and chips to margins of some pages. Bookplate of a goat wearing a crown to front pastedown. Ownership name of James G. Morgan in pen to front free endpaper. Front free endpaper has been adhered to verso of frontispiece. 172 plates plus plates. ENG/080522. Very Good.
