Gilt insignia for teh Royal Grammar School, Lancaster to the front board. Certificate pasted down to front endpaper - a prize for French awarded by the Head Master, Herbert A. Watson to John Shilbeck Wane in 1907. Both hinges are starting and there are a few chips to spine ends. Full marbled edges and marbled endpapers. Clean interior with illustrated title page. Preface in English as are subheads in Contents, but all poems are in FRENCH. 459 pages. FRE/030519. Very Good.
