1870. This print comes from the six volume set, A History of British Birds, by Reverend F. O. Morris, comprised of some of the most accurate drawings and information about British birds and their habitat. Engraved by Alexander Francis Lyon, and colored by a team of women colonists, the prints are presented on a greenish tan or biscuit color background. The print is Woodcut (Xylographic) engraving with superb original hand color Plate printed on one side, blank on reverse. The leaf measures 9 5/8 x 5 3/8 inches. Archivally matted. #46363.
