Leonard Darvin (1909-2003) grew up in Baltimore. At age 18, he published a well-received volume of poetry, Little Portraits. He subsequently earned a law degree from the University of Maryland in 1936. He was a lobbyist and counsel to the Dental Laboratory Association of New York, and then spent 25 years as the general counsel for the Comics Magazine Association of America. According to the dust jacket, Little Portraits had been out of print for more than a decade. This new edition also contains a number of other poems written by Darvin in 1928-1930. Small quarto. Dark green cloth covered boards with gilt title to spine. Author's inscription to front free end page. Minor browning to end pages. Else is clean and bright. Tan dust jacket with black title to front and spine panels. Browning to dust jacket, especially spine as well as some chipping and creasing to spine.
