L'Oeil de la Nuit
New York: Eclectic Iconoclast (?), 2002. Hardcover. Number 8 of 25 copies signed by the book artist. This intriguing book, written in French by Lab, playfully inverts the meaning of idiomatic expressions. In an afterword by Lab and Coron, they write that French, like many other languages has many sayings with a negative orientation. In this book they see what happens when they "return" these forms to a positive orientation. The witty text is accompanied by Coron's papercuts in black Tyvek that illustrate the text of each of Lab's writings. Bound in dark blue cloth with small black ornament to cover. Light signs of handling to covers. Text and papercut images on blue paper. In near fine condition. Measures 6 x 9 inches. 22 pages. ARTB/062024. Near Fine. More
