Lark Pien (born c. 1972) is an American cartoonist who has created the minicomics Stories from the Ward, Mr. Boombha, and Long Tail Kitty, the last of which won her the Friends of Lulu Kimberly Yale Award for Best New Talent in 2004. Her work has also been showcased in the Flight comics anthology. Pien earned her Bachelor of Architecture in 1995 from California Polytechnic State University. She began making comics in 1997. She is based in Oakland, California. This story of the long tail kitty follows his imaginary adventures and misadventures on one night. He encounters the circus and elephants, a fortune teller who informs him that he is going to like brocoli, robots and more. Entertainingly drawn comic strip style by Pien in black and white. Bound in multi-colored paper wrappers. Very good save for a couple of light marks on rear cover. Interior pages near fine. 4 x 5.5 inches. Unpaginated [38 pages]. Near Fine.
