Paris: C. Reinwald et Cie, 1877. Hardcover. Second edition, revised and corrected. With 21 woodcuts and 7 photographic illustrations. Originally published in 1872, this book examines behavioral genetics and explores the origins of various facial expressions such as lifting the eyebrows when suprised, etc. Green cloth boards with gilt title to spine. Large chip to book cloth near foot of spine. Discoloration to cloth on spine and a few spots on covers. Clean overall with occasional spots of foxing and soiling. Bottom edge of rear board has been pierced and bottom edges of last half of book have the corresponding marking along the bottom margin. This flaw does not affect the text. IN FRENCH.
