Madrid: En la oficina de davila, 1816. Hardcover. Letters by the Roman statesman and philosopher, Cicero - translated here into Spanish. Full brown leather boards with red and gilt title label to spine. Bowing to boards and minor wear to edges. Previous owner embossed stamp to title page and inscription in pen to verso of title page. Occasional spots of foxing, a few water marks, and occasional smudge marks, but clean and bright overall. Marbled endpapers. Creasing and short closed tear to rear endpaper. Text in Spanish. 251 pages plus index. SPA/013119. Very Good.
Paris: 1781. Hardcover. RARE. Very good in full leather with raised bands and gilt tooled panels on spine. Gilt tooling on inner and outer edges of boards. Pages edged in gilt; somewhat faded. Leather on spine is cracked and chipped in places, but gilt is still bright. Bumped corners. Minor bookworm damage to boards in several places. Rubbing/minor staining to boards. Marble endpapers which are faded/rubbed. Laid paper interior is very clean with several spots of foxing and some fading to endpages only. Very light soiling to title page and half-title. Green ribbon bookmark is sewn into binding. Translated from the Greek by Giacomelli. Classical Literature. CLA2/2250. Very Good.

In contemporary full white vellum with gilt emblems on both boards and handwritten title, author, publisher, date to spine in black ink. Rubbing to lettering on spine resulting in a few missing letters. Rubbing and minor soiling / darkening to binding as is common with vellum. Minor wear and bumping to spine ends, corners, and edges. Holes to fore-edges indicating that there was once a clasp. Occasional pen tick marks and occasional smudge marks to interior, but clean and bright overall. A few spots of foxing to endpapers. Author's name in pencil to top of title page and pen notations to front pastedown. Illustrated half-title page, vignette to title page, and a few small in-text illustrations. Tight binding with original hand-sewn headbands intact. 882 pages plus index. CLA/011821. Very Good.
