Marble endpapers which are faded/rubbed. Laid paper interior is very clean with several spots of foxing and some fading to endpages only. Very light soiling to title page and half-title. Lugduni Batavourm: Ex officina Hackiana, 1671. Hardcover. A collection of the poetic works of Statius, Roman poet from the 1st century AD. In contemporary full white vellum with gilt emblems on both boards and handwritten title, author, publisher, date to spine in black ink. Rubbing to lettering on spine resulting in a few missing letters. Rubbing and minor soiling / darkening to binding as is common with vellum. Minor wear and bumping to spine ends, corners, and edges. Holes to fore-edges indicating that there was once a clasp. Occasional pen tick marks and occasional smudge marks to interior, but clean and bright overall. A few spots of foxing to endpapers. Author's name in pencil to top of title page and pen notations to front pastedown. Illustrated half-title page, vignette to title page, and a few small in-text illustrations.
