Robert Fleming, Sr. had lived in the Himalayas for 45 years at the time of publication, and he was an author of other books on the birds of Nepal from as early as 1955. Small octavo (7 1/2" x 4 3/4"). Purple cloth cover with yellow title to front and spine. Illustrated dust jacket with blue title on front panel and black title on white spine panel. Pages are clean and bright. Cover is faded, with sunning to spine. Spine is rolled. Dust jacket is worn at edges, with several small closed tears to top. 349 pages, including index. NAT/060622. Scattered foxing to double column text pages and plates throughout not affecting legibility. Includes a table listing all of China's emperors and their dates, an index, and a list of plates.
