Includes a portrait and brief biography of important men in Maryland. Very Good in pictorial green leatherette boards with gilt title to spine and with color and gilt accents to front cover. Bound scrapbook style with three holes punched through all pages and string interlaced. Wear to edges of boards, corners, and spine ends. Previous owner stamp to endpapers. Clean interior overall with a few minor smudge marks, a few small spots of foxing, and several short closed tears / chips to margins. Some pages are loose but present. Very good in very good off-white illustrated dust jacket with black and blue title to front panel and black title to spine. Minor edgewear and foxing to dust jacket. Small damp stain to foot of spine that also effects about an inch of the edges of the pages. Does not effect the interior of the book. Inscription to front free end page reads "Dear Sally, With best wishes. Affectionaly, Lynne." Else is clean and bright with illustrations throughout. Index, 190 pages. WOM/032317. London: Whittaker and Co, 1834. Hardcover. John Aiken (1793 - 1833) was the editor of "Constable's Miscellany", "The Cabinet", and several other periodicals. He died very suddenly at a young age and this volume was put together in his memory by the contributors of his periodicals. It includes a breif biography of Aitken and over 30 liteary pieces. The contributors include: C. Torrop, G.P.R. James, William Tennet, W. M. Hetherington, W.C. Taylor, John Malcolm, Henry Inglis, George Moir, James Gardner, Thomas Rosecoe, Robert Chambers, John Macray, Henry Stebbing, William Wilson, John M'Diarmid, Thomas Aitkinson, and Henry G. Bell. Very good in black leather boards with gilt title to spine. Raised bands to spine and bllind stamped rules to boards and spine. There is a two inch crack to fhe front hinge, rubbing to the boards, and wear to the corners and edges. The endpages are purple with a few small dampstains. There are a few small spots of foxing throughout, but overall the interior is clean. Antiquated ownership signature of Ellen Nicole Liverpool to front free endpage. Full edges gilt. A nice 19th century collection of poetry and short stories. 444 pages. Very Good.
Ichikawa City, Japan: Kotosubo, 2014. Softcover. 1 of 60 copies. An exquisite handmade notebook with a silk binding and Japanese paper created by Japanese miniature book artist Miyako Akai. Miyako delights in the miniature book form and has won awards for her work from the Miniature Book Society. The 60 books in the edition have covers done with various Japanese silk patterns. This copy has a brown and cream repetitive design. The binding is stitched together with thin color ribbons. The book's pages have no text but most are printed with delicate designs, ornaments, or illustrations in different colors. The front pastedown has the name of the press and the date, while the rear pastedown has text in Japanese. In fine condition. Measures 3 x 4.25 inches. Unpaginated [62 pages] PRI/080117. Fine.

There is a half an inch closed tear to the top of the rear hinge. Minor rubbing to boards. Brown endpages. Occasional small spots of soiling / smudge marks to interior and a few to fore-edge of textblock. Hinges are starting and there are a few splits to interior; although, all pages remain securely bound. A few pages have short closed tears to margins.
