Chipping to book cloth along spine ends and minor wear to corners and edges of boards. There is a two inch split to the book cloth along the bottom of the front hinge and a dime sized loss to the book cloth on the front cover. With numerous illustrations including a fold out view of New York from the sea (1790), several fold-outs of bridges and reservours, several color fold-outs of army regiments leaving the city during 1861, a large fold out of "Old New York - The Bouwery", and more. Several of the fold outs have closed tears and extra creases. Clean and bright. Previous owner's signature in pencil on front free endpaper. 775 pages. NY/022118. Very Good.

Both hinges are starting to split with cracks starting on the tops and bottoms of both. Minor wear to corners and edges of boards. With numerous illustrations including a large fold out Nicholls map of New York (1664-8), a fold out of the Steam Ship Roanoke, a color fold out view of Harlem (1765), several color plates of New York homes, and more. Louisville: Charles A. Rogers, 1884. Hardcover. An interesting record of the Catholic church in Kentucky during the late 18th and 19th centurries. In addition to the history of the church in Kentucky for the century of its existence just closing, the volume contains the details of Catholic emigration to the state from 1785 to 1814, with life sketches of the more prominent among the colonists, as well as of the early missionary priests of the state and very many of their successors. Bound in bright blue cloth with black embossed designs and with gilt title to cover and title and author to spine. Light bumping to corners and slight fraying to spine edges otherwise very good. Text pages are also very good, with remnants of a label on front pastedown and possible acquisition number in red ink on free front endpaper.
