Most of the illustrations are very provocative - many show partially clad women with men, some with the devil. Very good in full brown leather with gilt title label and gilt rules on spine. Gilt design on front cover. Minor scuffing to boards and minor wear to edges and hinges. Remnant of bookplate to front pastedown. Small open tear to front free endpage. Browning to margins of text pages; however, the illustration pages remain bright. Each chapter ends with a decorative tailpiece. An attractive book. German Literature. GER1/02131. Very Good.

Berlin: Bard Marquart, n.d., circa 1900. Hardcover. Very good. Mit 15 Vollbildern und zwei Facsimiles. Bound in full limp vellum with decorative gold stamping to front cover and title to spine. Ties are no longer present. Light soiling and slight warp to boards. Occasional spots of foxing to interior, but clean overall. Illustrated with photos, particularly from Jerusalem. Text printed in black with red accents. A few splits to binding. 79 pages with contemporary advertisements at rear. German. GER/9132. Very Good.

Very Good in illustrated brown cloth boards with gilt titles to spines, white titles to front covers, and an illustration of a bear to front covers. Wear to edges of boards, corners, and spine ends of all volumes. Rubbing to covers. Spine of volume one has been repaired. Closed tears to edges of some pages - most of which have been repaired with archival tape. Overall the interiors are clean; although, there are occasional spots of foxing and small spots of soiling to some pages. Volume two and volume three are both missing the front free endpapers. Rear hinge of volume three is starting. Includes over 1000 illustrations, some of which are in color. An interesting set filled with illustrations - easy to appreciate even if you don't speak the language. Text is in German. This set may require an extra shipping fee. Nature. NAT/7262. Very Good.

Göttingen: Heinrich Dieterich, 1805. Hardcover. SCARCE. German astronomer Tobias Mayer (1723 - 1762) is best known for his studies of the moon and his lunar tables. Includes two fold out plates to rear. Very good black paper covered boards with red and gilt title label to spine "Mayer's Astronomie." Wear to hinges, edges of boards, and corners. Heavy rubbing to paper covering boards. Stamp from the Meterological Society to title page and remnant of stamp to endpage. Previous owner signature dated 1825 to front endpage. Dampstaining and discoloration to spine, rear board, and edge of front board. Minor dampstaining to top margins of pages; however, illustrations are not effected. Filled with lovely photographic illustrations. A good reading copy. Introduction is in German though captions are in both German and English. Unpaginated. Size: quarto. GER/051715. Very Good Minus.
