John Austen and penned ownership name of Mary Anne Campion to front pastedowns of each volume, and library sticker from Henry Stow Lovejoy of Janesville, WI dated 12/19/1908 to rear pastedowns. Bookplate of Lovejoy to front free endpaper of first volume only. All volumes are bound in full brown leather with black and gilt author and title labels to spines. All volumes have been rebacked and restored with pieces of the original spine leather laid down; however, the leather is cracked and chipped along the hinges and spines. The bindings remain tight and secure on volumes III and IV; however, the front boards of the first two volumes are detached. The interiors are clean overall with spots of foxing mostly in the first and last pages of each volume. Foldout plate to front of volume II. A functional set despite the noted wear. Volume I: 512 pages; Volume II: 522 pages; Volume III: 500 pages; Volume IV: 464 pages. LIT/040820. Very Good.
