Creasing to turn-ins of several of the fold-out plates including the rear map; otherwise, in fine condition. In a good illustrated dust jacket with white spine panel titled in black. The edges of the jacket are heavily worn with several large tears and losses to the edges of the jacket. A closed tear has been repaired with tape along the interior of the front panel. Rubbing and light soiling to jacket. The jacket is protected from further wear with a plastic cover. Text is in FRENCH. 450 pages. ART/011013. Very Good in Good Dust Jacket.
Paterson: Gayren Press, No date. Paperback. Both volumes are very good in side-staped paper wrappers with wood cut illustration and title to front wrap of both volumes. Volume I includes black and white wood cuts by the author and volume II includes color woodcuts by author. In wraps. 2 closed tears that have been repaired with tape to front wrapper of Form and Fancy II whos wrappers were also detached but have now been repaired. Art. ART111101. Very Good.
Paris: Goupil & Cie, 1912. Hardcover. Number 8 of 75 copies on Japanese paper. This sumptuous book recounts the life and work of Eugene Lami, the famed French painter, illustrator, and designer. It is extensively illustrated throughout with double plates of each of the works. Each is protected by a tissue guard. In full brown leather with ornate gilt ornaments decorating the covers. There are four raised bands on the spine with gilt decorations, author, and title. Light scuffing, bumping, and tear to top of spine along joint along with missing leather where label was removed. Unfortunately this heavy ex-library book's binding is detached from the text block. The free front endpaper is torn as is the half title. Ex-library although library markings are relatively unobtrusive, with an ownership stamp on the verso of the original cover bound in, small ink numbers on verso of title page and scraping to the rear free endpaper where signout card removed. The interior of the book is otherwise in very good condition. With the bookplate of Courtland Bishop (1870-1935) the pioneer U.S. aviator, autoist, traveler, and noted book collector. Price reflects flaws. In French. Folio volume with 206 pages plus plates. Heavy volume may require extra postage. ART/031419. Very Good -.

This piece of artwork created with molten glass on copper over a wooden frame features a martini glass with the quote by Dorthothy Parker: "I like to have a martini, Two at the very most, Three I'm under the table, Four I'm under the host" printed on two of the sides. "When it comes to designing, Houston takes inspiration from the small moments of life that collectively create our experience. Barcelona: Printed at The Private Space for Sandra March, 2012. One of 100 copies. This collection of booklets is the catalogue for Projecte Antomica, an inventive and thought-provoking project by Spanish book and installation artist, Sandra March. The booklets feature images of chastity belts, anatomical drawings of figures in enticing positions, altered historical paintings to depict dissections of breasts, and much more. One collage of nude self-portraits bears the slogan "My body is your battleground." This is a disturbing but fascinating project. March describes it as a "work that operates somewhere between the old and the new, plays with the imagination, and uses irony to discuss the excessive aestheticism of the current era,demystifying it. It consists of different parts organized around two themes, the representation of the human body and anatomy. The project and the book consist of eight pieces that are numbered and correlated. They allow the project to be considered as a whole or as independent parts. Various media were used in this project, including drawings, computer graphics, photography, and sculpture. The catalogue also includes two additional booklets - the prologue and the documentation. The latter has a bibliography and a physical description of each part of the catalogue. Text is in Spanish, Catalan, and English. In fine condition. The ten booklets are housed in a brown paper envelope that in turn is in a tulle bag. Each piece is 8 x 11 inches. Unpaginated. Paris: Le Jour, 1935. Pamphlet. Souvenir Program for an annual event organized by "Le Jour" in support of children's causes. The event had music, singing, and dancing. The program provides an interesting picture of the culture of Pre-WWII Paris. It has contributions from a number of well-known artists and writers that include Raoul Dufy, Marie Laurencin, Maeterlinck, Colette, Maurois, and Mauriac. The artists' contributions are full-page offset illustrations, but most delightful are the many color and black and white advertisements throughout. The creative and engaging ads are for such companies as Bon Marche, Worth, Guerlain, Fiat, Mumm, and many more. They are printed on various matte and glossy papers, with decorated silver front endpapers. Spiral bound in cream paper boards with title to front cover. Light soiling to cover but otherwise in near fine condition. Interior pages are also very good, with a couple of spots to rear free endpaper caused by tape used on glassine protector. Unpaginated. Serbia: 2003. Hardcover. One of 99 copies. SCARCE. Nis is one of the oldest cities in Europe. The artist Ljuba Markovic captures the architecture and history of this Serbian city with this collection. A green leatherette portfolio case houses several items: a CD, a collection of 36 postcards, a booklet describing each postcard image, a framed plaque, a collection of 50 limited edition prints, a description of each print, and a timeline of Nis. The prints are preceeded by a document stating that this is one of 99 copies of the collection of drawings "Vedutas of the Old Nis." It is sealed in wax and signed by the artist. The date of 25.12.2003 is printed on the document. Each print features a different building in Old Nis and is printed in dark brown ink. Each is approximately 13 inches long by 9.5 inches wide and all are suitable for framing.The framed plaque reproduces a seal of Nis from the 3rd century. The seal and label are mounted on red cloth which is framed with wood finished in gold. It is 8.5 inches wide by 12.5 inches tall and it has a a wire on the back for easy hanging. The postcard collection reproduces 36 of the large print images and the accompanying booklet describes each. A CD-Rom is also included. The portfolio that the items come in has three pockets and it fits into a larger brown cardboard portfolio with a brown reproduction of the Nis seal on the front panel. There is light wear to the edges of the inner portfolio. The outer cardboard portfolio has a large split along the edge of the top flap. All text is in English and Serbian. This is the first monograph devoted to Grace Hartigan, one of the most important artists of New York' School of the 1950s. Hartigan (1922-2008) was an Abstract Expressionist known for her intensely colored paintings that often incorporated images from popular culture. She was the only woman artist included in MOMA's legendary The New American Painting exhibit that toured Europe in the late 1950s. She was friends with major artists of her time, including Jackson Pollock, Larry Rivers, Helen Frankenthaler, and Willem do Kooning. Hartigan moved to Baltimore in the 1960s, where she lived until her death. Fine in yellow cloth boards with white title to spine. Top corner of rear free endpage is creased.
