Copper Plate Engraving by George Edwards, with original hand coloring on laid paper. Edwards spent most of his life observing and depicting indigenous and non-indigenous species of birds. Many of his drawings were done on commission for the Royal Society and Royal College of Physicians. Edwards is credited with collaborating on the scientific naming and description of about 300 species of birds.The print measures 11 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. Archivally matted. #49204. Very Good.
