Revised edition; first Wood edition of the revision of the 1875 second edition, expanded with eight additional lectures, of the six lectures originally published in 1866 as “On Railway and Other Injuries of the Nervous System.” This is the standard English book on “railway spine,” spinal injuries resulting from new high-speed trains; malingering and real injuries needed to be distinguished for legal and insurance reasons. Very good in black cloth with gilt title to front cover. Light wear to edges of boards. Ex-library with small call number hand written on spine, embossed stamps of The Hartford Retreat to several leaves, and gold library seal on title page.
