[Wikipedia] He is most frequently associated with the city of Tangier, where he settled in 1947 after having first visited in 1931. His first novel, The Sheltering Sky, was set in French North Africa. Bowles was a prolific composer, writer (especially short stories), and translator. He studied music with Aaron Copland and was a compatriot of writers such as Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams and Gore Vidal. This catalog is of an exhibition of the Special Collections of the Hugh M. Morris Library at the University of Delaware. It includes chapters on poetry, music, novels, short stories, translations, travel writing, and life writing. Includes numerous color plates of items in the exhibition. Small quarto.
