First Edition of this work seeking to provide both a portable volume of a voluminous history as well as giving an authentic account of the events of this important period. Bound in green pebbled cloth with gilt titling and harp ornament to spine. The front cover and spine have separated from the text block but the text is firmly attached to the rear cover. Browning and toning to interior pages and the leaf for pages 23/24 is loose. Library stamp "Bibliotheca Domus...Baltimore" to title page and label on front pastedown, "Bibl.C. SS. R/ Ad S Jacobum, Baltimore. Still a nice readable copy of a relatively scarce work. Measures 4.5 x 7.5 inches. 323 pages. IRE/021323. Good.
