IN GERMAN, printed in Fraktur type. Bound in modern black buckram with no title. Foxed throughout with occasional spots of soiling. Filled with over 300 illustrations. Includes 25 full page color illustrations - the frontispiece is a chromolithograph and the others have been hand colored. Most of the color illustrations depict battles on land and at sea. A page between the contents and the first page of text has been removed leaving a stub - it is text weight paper and may have been dedication page. Includes population tables for each state and county based on the 1850 census. Full marbled edges. 880 pages plus 2 pages of ads. GER/110922. Very Good.
