This book deals with influences on Western art during the approximate half-century between the beginning of the French revolution and the revolutionary uprisings of 1848. The period was one of political ferment, social unrest and major changes in industrial production. These influences on artists such as Goya, Delacroix, Turner, and others are discussed. Numerous color reproductions of artists' works are tipped-in. Quarto. In glossy white paper covered boards with gilt title to front board and spine. The covers has faded fairly uniformly to cream. Minor wear to edges including bumping to corners. Previous owner's signature on front free endpaper, and a pasted award label to her is on title page from the Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. Pages are bright and clean. White dust jacket with full color illustration to front panel. Black and red title to white spine. Dust jacket is price-clipped with minor wear to edges including several short closed tears. A few smudge marks to rear panel of jacket. 210 pages, including index. ART/081522. Very Good / Very Good.
