Irish statesman, Edmund Burke ( 1729 - 1797) worked with French during the impeachment trial of Warren Hastings, the English Governor-General of Bengal. Published by French's brother, this book collects letters between the two men. Bound in full dark brown leather boards with leather turn ins and patterned endpapers. Five raised bands but no title to spine. This appears to be a later amateur unsigned binding. Embossed rules to spine, but no giltwork. A few tiny spots of foxing, but clean and bright overall. 305 pages plus 1 page of ads. LAW/080522. Very Good.
