Michael Field was the pseudonym of the poets/playrights Katherine Harris Bradley and Edith Cooper, who were aunt and niece as well as lesbian lovers. They were part of the 1890s circle and close friends of Charles Ricketts and his partner, Charles Shannon. Bound in printed paper covered boards in buff and green with 'dead leaves' design over grey-blue paper covered spine with paper title label to spine. Browning to spine, title label, and top edges of boards. Minor wear to corners and edges of boards. Small spots of foxing to boards and a few spots of soiling to spine and boards. Bump and chipping to foot of spine. Offsetting to endpapers and occasional spots of foxing to interior, but clean and bright overall. Foxing to fore-edge. Printed in red and black Vale type.
