Rubbing, a few chips, and wear to bookcloth on spine ends, edges, and corners. Small marking and possible dampstain to top corner of front board of volume two. Top edge gilt and ribbon bookmark bound in. Bookplate of Charles Edward Hyman to front pastedowns of both volumes. Illustrated with numerous photogravures (from photographs), all with captioned tissue guards. Small spot of soiling to margin of one plate, not affecting the image. The tissue guard for this plate has a mark from the same spot and a short closed tear. Very clean and bright aside from this marking. An attractive set.
