Unique and private fonts have largely ceased to exist....Yet there are some points in which [this] specimen book may claim consideration...asbecomes a university press, the equipment of the fonts in italics, accented letters, reference marks, etc. is ample." The manual is divided into specimens of book fonts,and specimens of job fonts, borders, ornaments, signs, and rules.
