London: 1890. An original handwritten letter from Victorian artist Lawrence Alma-Tadema to Lady Leslie. Alma-Tadema (1836-1912) was a Dutch born artist who lived in England from 1870 until his death. He was a very successful painter who was known for his classical subjects. The letter is one-page written on letterhead 17 Grove End Road, St. John's Wood, N.W. dated 27/3/90 to Lady Leslie thanking her for her kind letter and would considered it a "special favor" if she would come to his studio next Monday the 31st a little before 3pm and talk about her thoughts, "your friend Alma Tadema." The letter is matted and in a custom frame measuring 16.5 x 25.5 inches along with a collage of reproduced paintings and the artist's portrait. The 16 line letter measures 4 x 6 inches and appears to be in very good condition. AUTOLET/092419. Very Good.
