circa 1940. Uncommon. Includes 32 handmade sample papers for covering fusuma (Japanese doors). Silver and red paper covered boards with black title in Japanese to front cover. Ribbon bound. Several open tears to paper on front cover. Minor soiling, browning, and wear to boards and edges. The interior is clean overall with foxing to some pages. Diagrams showing the proper layout for how the paper should be adhered to the doors are tipped in facing several of the samples. Papers are multi-colored with designs and pulp paintings, many featuring metallic components. Size: about 13.5 x 11 inches.
