Articles on artists, architecture, decorative arts, reviews, and more. The Art Union became The Art Journal in 1849, after it was purchased by publisher George Virtue. Ex-library from MICA with stamp to verso of title page and fore-edge. Black leather spine and corners over grey cloth covered boards with gilt title (The Art Journal) to spine. Minor wear to corners, edges, spine ends, and hinges. Rubbing to covers with a few spots of soiling. Rear hinge is split and nearly detached. Crack to leather on spine. Some spots of foxing to plates, but most other pages remain clean. Size: quarto. 370 pages. ART/032619. Very Good.
