Danish astronomer, mathematician, and surveyor Thomas Bugge (1740 - 1815) wrote numerous books on mathematics and had several observatories built in Scandinavia. Mottled leather spine and tips with tan pastepaper covered boards and leather title label to spine. The gilt spine label reads "T. Bugges Astronomie." Chipping to top edge of title label which effects a few letters in the author's name. Minor wear to corners and edges of boards, bumping to corners, rubbing to boards and hinges, and a few chips to paper covering boards. Bookplate of Harry Rabinowitz to front pastedown.
