The Blot on Parliament and the Cleansing

London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, 1923. Hardcover. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. First Edition. According to the introduction: "The object of this book is to point out the remarkable and terrible results of this extraordinary and mischievous feature of the party system and to suggest a simple remedy ... I have set out facts and arguments in a simple conversational form to make them interesting to and understood by the average reader. As an illustration of certain evil effects of the present system, the story is told of a Fishery Bill (most pernicious adn contrary to public welfare in respect of certain clauses relating to river pollution) in which the late Government made alterations detrimental to public interests for the benefit of certain influential supporters; also of the manner in which a large selection of the public was grossly deceived in respect of the Bill."

Bound in green cloth (it is olive green despite the picture above) covered boards with black title to front board and to spine. Publisher's emblem in black to rear board. Minor bumping to spine ends and light browning to spine. Minor creasing and a few closed tears to edges of pages 229-244. Minor browning to rear end page. Else is clean and bright. 256 pages.
