This is the author's first book and it includes a selection of his best articles, which were originally printed in 'St. James's Gazette,' 'Pall Mall Gazette', 'World,' 'Time,' and the 'Fortnightly Review. Very good in original blue cloth with gilt title to spine and black floral design to front board. Light rubbing to hinges, spine ends, and edges of boards. A few small spots to front board and light bubbling to book cloth on rear board. Evidence of a minor dampstain along top and bottom edges of endpages. The remainder of the interior is clean. Bookplate of noteable book collector is tipped in on front endpage. 162 pages plus 2 pages of ads. LIT/121109'. Very Good.
