He was born on the Isle of Man, and wrote his poetry in Manx English, a dialect formerly spoken on the Isle of Man. The dialect is derived from the Celtic as is Welsh. In the book, there are footnotes giving the English word for some of the dialect. Bound in the original brown patterned cloth, with gilt title to spine. Some rubbing and bumping to cloth but otherwise in very good minus condition. Front hinge is tender but the text is tightly bound and the interior pages are clean.
