This book includes several newly identified star clusters or nebulae. He used a 16 foot long telescope to observe the heavens. Illustrated with 3 fold-out Copper Plates to rear. Sold as is. Includes chapters on the Ptolemaick system, Copernican system, Sun's Recess, "What creatures inhabit the Planets", "The Planets are Worlds", and more. Bound in full leather boards with red and gilt title label to spine. Both boards are present but detached. The boards are beautifully tooled with floral embossed devices to corners. Minor wear to edges of boards. Bookplates from two previous owners to inside of front board. Writing in pen and pencil from previous owners to front endpapers and to title page.
