Covers are chipped, rubbed, and bumped, with a tear to front right cover and left rear cover exposing the black board underneath. Spine is darkened and title label is chipped. Interior pages are very good, with a small wrinkle to top edge of half title. Frontispiece portrait of Conrad by Muirhead Bone. Still a nice copy with the charming personal inscription.
