Mobile, AL: The Friends of the Spring Hill College Library, 1993. Hardcover. Signed and inscribed by the editor, dated 1995. Spring Hill College is a private, Jesuit, liberal arts school in Alabama. It was one of the first colleges to desegregate in the South. Later inscription to bottom of title page indicating that the book was once donated to the Archives of the Society of St. Joseph. Bound in deep purple leatherette boards with gilt title to spine and front board. A notecard with an illustration of the school has been taped on the front free endpaper. A seven page pamphlet including a brief history and a map of the college has been taped on the rear free endpaper. 154 pages. EDU/071520. Very Good / Very Good.
Brooklyn, NY: The Albertype Co, 1902. Hardcover. Stab bound with cord in oblong maroon cloth boards with silver title to front cover. Binding remains secure; however, the cloth covered the spine is no longer present. Minor wear and rubbing to edges of boards. Includes photographic illustrations of faculty, football team of 03, academic buildings, special events, and more. Minor browning to edges of pages, but clean and bright overall. Limerick, Ireland: Mungret College, 1902-1907. Hardcover. The yearbook for Mungret College, a Jesuit school near Limerick, Ireland, which was open from 1882 through 194. It also served as a small secondary school with about 200 boarders. This collection includes several songs and/or articles in Gaelic; however, most of the text is in English. Photographic illustrations and articles about the school, town of Limerick, students, and staff are included. Each of the five included annual issues has about 70 pages. Bound in three quarter red leather over black cloth boards with gilt title to spine and front cover. Both hinges are cracked and the boards are a bit loose, but remain attached. Writing in pen to front free endpaper, and occasional smudge marks to margins, but clean overall. One page is torn down the middle and half of the page (which had an illustration) is no longer present. An interesting look into the history of this small Irish school. Size: Quarto. EDU/061820. The report is preceded by a record of the Commission's meetings and is followed by the Evidence and Appendix ; for the report's findings. Bound in three quarter brown leather with dark brown cloth covers with the university's seal in gilt. Spine title label and gilt rulings and date to spine. Leather is quite scuffed and bumped on the front and rear covers and spine has wear and fraying along edges. Presentation label on front pastedown. Hinges are reinforced by library cloth tape. According to the authors, these skills should take priority over reading, writing, and math in the schooling and parenting of young children. Open Connections, Inc. was a non-profit organization which incorporated creative problem-solving into early childhood education. Very good+ in white illustrated paper wrappers with blue title to front wrapper and to spine. Minor rubbing and creasing to exterior. Minor edgewear and soiling to wrappers. Business card for John Edwin Pomfret, former president of The College of William and Mary, laid in. It includes an appendix and index and is accompanied by circulars addressed by the commissionerst ogether with answers. Bound in three quarter brown leather with dark brown cloth covers with the university's seal in gilt. Spine title label and gilt rulings and date to spine. Leather is quite scuffed and bumped on the front and rear covers and spine has wear and fraying along edges. Cloth covers also are worn and rubbed. Presentation label on front pastedown.
