Paris: Le Jour, 1935. Pamphlet. Souvenir Program for an annual event organized by "Le Jour" in support of children's causes. The event had music, singing, and dancing. The program provides an interesting picture of the culture of Pre-WWII Paris. It has contributions from a number of well-known artists and writers that include Raoul Dufy, Marie Laurencin, Maeterlinck, Colette, Maurois, and Mauriac. The artists' contributions are full-page offset illustrations, but most delightful are the many color and black and white advertisements throughout. The creative and engaging ads are for such companies as Bon Marche, Worth, Guerlain, Fiat, Mumm, and many more. They are printed on various matte and glossy papers, with decorated silver front endpapers. Spiral bound in cream paper boards with title to front cover. Light soiling to cover but otherwise in near fine condition. Interior pages are also very good, with a couple of spots to rear free endpaper caused by tape used on glassine protector. Unpaginated.
