Appears to be extra-illustrated with 10 bound in illustrations of varying sizes from multiple sources. Ownership inscription of Edw. T. Mason of New York dated 1864 in pen to front free endpaper with an inscription from his daughter, Louise Hurlbut Mason to the top of the half title page. E.T. Mason was an editor. Bound in full leather with raised bands to spine and gilt title label to spine. Front cover is no longer present. Leather is cracked along rear hinge, but board remains securely attached. Clean interior overall with occasional spots of foxing and browning. An table of contents listing all of the biographies is included. 106 / 122 pages. DRAMA/122719. Good.
