She was from an aristocratic family and used the initials EVB to mask her identity. She was particularly well known as a children's book illustrator. She was also greatly interested in gardening, and this book is about her garden at Huntercombe Manor, Buckinghamshire. The recipient, Rose Kerr (1882-1944) was one of the founders of the Girl Guide movement in Britain. With her bookplate on front pastedown. Bound in original purple cloth. Slightly rubbed, endpapers brown but in very good condition. With black and white illustrations. 190 pages plus 2 pages of ads. Very Good.
