Robert Nathan (1894–1985) was an American novelist and poet who published prose and poetry for 56 years, with his last novel appearing in 1975 and his last published poetry in 1973. His novels The Bishop's Wife, One More Spring, and Portrait of Jennie were converted into films. In the early 1940s, he became a screenwriter for MGM.
