(Chefoo): (Women's Bible School at the Presbyterian Mission in Chefoo), circa 1900. Paperback. Japanese style stab binding. Flexible boards covered in cloth with a Chinese pattern of homes and trees. The book contains 7 Chinese legends which are printed on patterned tissue guards. Each legend accompanies an original black paper cut illustration. The title page also features a black paper cut illustration, making 8 total illustrations. The titles of each legend are printed in Chinese and English; the legends are only in English. A few of the tissue guards are browned with light wear to the edges and small creases to the corners. There is a dampstain to the front endpage and minor creasing. An unusual, beautiful book. Includes 8 papercuts and 7 captioned tissue guards. Unpaginated. MYTH/111212. Very Good.
