Along with the excellent articles and examples of typography, paper, and printing, The Colophon also included prints by noted artists of the time. This issue has an original color woodcut by noted artist Gustave Baumann, who led the color woodcut revival. Although born in Germany, Baumann became particularly known for his artwork of the Southwest. This striking print depicts an Eagle Ceremony at Tesuque Pueblo. The issue also includes a Johnsonian bibliography and articles on Benjamin Harris, Juan Ortiz, and wood engraving in America. In very good condition with light wear to paper boards. Interior is fine.
