Washington DC: Press of W.F. Roberts Company, 1905. Paperback. The scarce official souvenir for the inauguration of Theodore Roosevelt and Charles W. Fairbanks. It includes short biographies of Roosevelt and Fairbanks, an essay on the inauguration ceremony by Thomas Nelson Page, and a history of the District of Columbia as the seat of the nation's capital. There are photographs of Roosevelt and Fairbanks, and a list of the Inaugural Committee officers and members, all protected by tissue guards. Thin quarto in wrappers, with title, date, and official seal in black on front cover and an illustration of the White House on the back cover. The covers have been hole-punched with a red,white and blue ribbon threaded through and tied. In very good plus condition. The covers are quite clean with just the lightest soiling. The cover edges are slightly bent, with a tiny piece of the front bottom edge missing. The interior pages are clean and bright save for a small brown spot on the list of committee members.
