There are a few small spots of foxing to the illustrated end pages and the first few pages. There is also a previous owner's signature in pen on the front end page; otherwise, the interior is clean. Vignette illustrations by Andrew Wyeth begin each chapter. Includes a laid-in newpaper article about an accident on a bridge across the Brandywine north of Wilmington, DE.
